The Vision for Project 22 was developed during an organizational meeting in 2005. The organization received its 501(c)3 status in June 2007. Over the years, the organization has sponsored Stay at Home Teas and Prayer Breafasts to raise funds to conduct its mission. The Board of Directors oversee the organizations activities.
Project 22 was established with the purpose of raising and disseminating funds for Social, Educational and Human Services on behalf of underserved individuals in the Western Wayne County of Michigan. Project 22 seeks to empower the community through innovative programs and services focusing on Education, Economic Development, Health Awareness and Civic Engagement.

Since its inception in 2007, Project 22 has partnered with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Inkster Alumnae Chapter to provide financial support for their Scholarship program. Scholarships are dispersed annually to students to celebrate their accomplishments and support their desire to pursue their educational dreams. In recent years, a partnership with Comerica Bank and Individual gifts have allowed us to expand our scholarship offerings.
